Epimorph

Epimorphs, also called Volunteers, are Deviants who underwent the Divergence because they thought they could get something out of it. This Origin includes those who chose to be Remade because of desperation, greed, or a persuasive argument by the Progenitor.

Overview

Divergence itself was not the goal for the Volunteers. They became Deviants because they needed something else. An Epimorph might have been suffering from a terminal disease for which Divergence was the only cure. Another might have been deep in debt and needed the money offered in exchange for being a test subject.

Epimorphs often didn't seek out a conspiracy; instead, the conspiracy came to them with offers and promises and convincing words. Many of them were desperate enough to believe it.

Going Renegade

Few Epimorphs knew what being Remade would mean for them. They needed to fill the void, and the Divergence allowed them to do that. Once they fully understand what they signed up for, many Volunteers seek a way out. It isn't easy to escape a conspiracy; most made the Volunteers sign waivers or non-disclosure agreements to strip the Deviants' rights. Even when the Epimorph manages to escape, conspiracies can leverage semi-legal means to pressure the Renegade (DTR) into returning.

Origin Factor

The shame many Epimorphs feel toward their own Divergence grants them one Scar-free dot of a Subtle Variation. The needs that defined their motivations also grant them an extra dot of Loyalty.
