Exomorph

Exomorphs, also called the Unwilling, are those who were forced into the Divergence against their will.

Overview

Even before they were Remade, Exomorphs were dehumanized by the conspiracies that took them, treated as raw material. Unlike Epimorphs, the Unwilling aren't lured in with shiny promises and half-truths; they are usually taken by force. Maybe their Progenitor justifies it somehow — the Deviant was already on Death Row, or had committed some sin that requires punishment, or their life is a small sacrifice for the good of the human race. Others just want test subjects and don't much care where they came from.

Going Renegade

The majority of Exomorphs would be Renegades if more of them survived rebellion. A lucky few manage to escape soon after the Divergence, particularly when the conspiracy makes the mistake of assuming the Deviant will be grateful for what's been done to them. In other cases, when the Divergence is an end unto itself (the fulfillment of a prophecy, for instance) there's not much effort invested in keeping the Remade around. Most of the time, however, conspiracies realize that Exomorphs require containment. They use threats and hostages, high-trackers and well-armed handlers, or just a remote and well-guarded prison to keep their asset in line. In these cases, the Exomorph might toe the line and behave, but that doesn't make them Devoted.

Origin Factor

Their anger grants Exomorphs one dot of Scar-free Overt Variation, and a starting dot of Conviction.
